Important note from the Club

Posted on 25 February 2005  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

What's going to happen if supporters persistently stand at White Hart Lane? - SIT DOWN OR LOSE YOUR SEAT.

Persistent standing is contrary to our ground regulations and our licence from the Football Licensing Authority and so to try and stop it, we’ve had to start banning fans who break the rules. It's not something we like doing but the Club is required by law to do something about it.

If you don't help us by sitting down, the authorities have warned us that they will take even greater action - they’re going to shut part or all of our ground. Can you imagine playing Arsenal or Chelsea at Home and not having our fans in the stands cheering the lads on?

We know the game is exciting and passionate, especially at the Lane. And we understand that at various points in a match, you’re going to stand up. But the only way we can avoid you being banned, or the whole area being closed, is to stop persistent standing. So the situation is simple - SIT DOWN OR LOSE YOUR SEAT. It's your choice.

IF YOU STAND, WE STAND TO LOSE OUR LICENCE. SO SIT DOWN OR LOSE YOUR SEAT.
