Harry Redknapp sees Wednesday night's friendly against Exeter City as the perfect start to pre-season.
It's the first of nine friendlies including Barcelona and Celtic in the Wembley Cup, a trip to China and Hong Kong and finally Olympiakos at the Lane on August 9.
The Grecians - with legendary Spur Steve Perryman as Director of Football - have achieved successive promotions and will play in League One next season.
Harry said: "I was impressed with what I saw of Exeter last season and the young manager, Paul Tisdale, has done a great job. Everyone speaks highly of him.
"I came down here with Portsmouth last summer and we had a tough match. They were very good and played some good football.
"I'll probably make 11 changes to give everyone a game and that's enough for the first friendly in pre-season. We'll then do a similar thing at Bournemouth on Friday."
The lads have looked sharp so far in pre-season training and Harry added: "Everything's fine. The lads are all working hard."
Exeter clinched automatic promotion from League Two on the final day of last season.
Our young defender Troy Archibald-Henville played for the Grecians in that game at Rotherham in May and 19 matches in total as part of his loan deal in the second half of last season.
