A product of our Academy, Nabil, still only 20, is driven to succeed at Tottenham Hotspur.
One of our stand-out performers last season, the midfielder made 35 appearances in all competitions as we finished fifth in the Premier League and reached the Capital One Cup Final.
Nabil has packed a huge amount into the last 19 months having made his first team breakthrough at Southampton in December, 2013.
As well as already toppling the half-century mark in terms of appearances (he now has 55 to his name) he’s been called-up by Algeria and played in the World Cup and African Cup of Nations Finals.
“I’m really happy to commit myself to the club until 2020,” said Nabil after we announced his new deal on Monday.
“You can see how much the club means to me by signing a five-year deal and how I fight every day. This is football and it’s about what you give on the pitch.
“You have to improve all the time and if you don’t, I consider that a failure. That’s how I see it. That is what has brought me to where I am now.
“The club has given me their trust, I have to thank them for that and I’ll keep working hard to achieve things with Tottenham.
“We have a young team and we all want to learn but this season we have to show something for the fans. Last season we finished fifth, it’s a good platform and we have to do better now, we have to achieve things to thank the fans who are always behind us.”
