I took my wife to White Hart Lane and Wembley on my honeymoon in October of '91. At least it was romantic for one of us. Ten years on, we're still married and I'm still a loyal Spur!
I went to a arse*al game with my mate who supports them. Please forgive me. I can say that White Hart Lane is much better, and so is the team! SOOO SORRY!
In 1994 (I think, I've tried to wipe it from memory) I ended up going with a friend to the A*****l v Sheff Weds FA cup final replay. I only went to keep my mate company as she was scared of going to a match on her own, we ended up miles apart. I spent most of the match plugged into my walkman trying to ignore what was going on on the pitch and keeping my Spurs shirt undercover (I felt very outnumbered). It wouldn't of been quite so bad if they'd lost, but then I had a nightmare journey home with hoards of celebrating fans including a very strange bunch of females who spent the entire time discussing how sexy Paul Merson was (this was during the shaggy perm, drinking etc times!). I've done my very best to forget, but
every so often I wake up screaming in the night when the nightmare becomes too much...
My confession is that I actually thought Christian Gross wasn't that bad as a manager - I'm sorry to all Spurs fans!
I went on the White Hart Lane tour in '95, Ted had just had a fitness test and had left his sweaty kit in the changing rooms - Sorry Teddy I nicked your socks!
