When spurs played Coventry at the Lane in 1993, I think it was then, I was good friends with John Sillett the Coventry manager and he invited me and my 13-year-old boy up to the game. On arriving we were taken on a tour of the Coventry changing room and met all the players.
Both of us had our Spurs scarves on, expecting to go into the stand. We went to go but John insisted we watch the game from the away bench.
So imagine me and my son decked out in Spurs kit sat next to the Coventry subs, and when Chrissie Waddle equalised we were both out giving it everything.
I often hoped some photographer had taken a picture because it must of been a very weird
sight. I think the game ended in a draw, but it was a fantastic day out appreciated more by me than my son - it's the nearest you can get to being a player without playing.
