I Confess: New West Stand

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

It was all ticket and me and a friend called Trogg didn&rsquo&#59;t have a ticket. At the time the West Stand was almost complete but not furnished inside. <o:p></o:p></SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="mso-layout-grid-align: none"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">We couldn&rsquo&#59;t help but spot a small hole in the fencing between the rear of the Spurs shop and the Park Lane stand. </SPAN><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">Well we were off, through the sand and rubble etc and into the new stand.<o:p></o:p></SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="mso-layout-grid-align: none"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">We got inside and thought &lsquo&#59;right, well what do we do now?&rsquo&#59;<o:p></o:p></SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="mso-layout-grid-align: none"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">Brilliant, there were a couple of hard hats on the floor, &lsquo&#59;nice one&rsquo&#59;, we will pass as workmen.<o:p></o:p></SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="mso-layout-grid-align: none"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">So off we went to the top of the stand thinking the further up we went the less likely we were to be spotted. We sat down and thought: &lsquo&#59;This is alright. Best seats in the house.&rsquo&#59;<o:p></o:p></SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="mso-layout-grid-align: none"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">Well it didn&rsquo&#59;t last long, the illusive disguise was a bit sketchy, and the Ben Shermans, braces and Doc Martens might have given it away.<o:p></o:p></SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="mso-layout-grid-align: none"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">A short chase across the empty stand ensued before the humiliation of being paraded past the Park Lane full of<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp&#59; </SPAN>Man U fans in a rather uncomfortable half nelson, desperately trying to look casual and dignified.<o:p></o:p></SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="mso-layout-grid-align: none"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">And to this day for no particular reason, I have never been back in the </SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'&#59; FONT-SIZE: 12pt&#59; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt&#59; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'&#59; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB&#59; mso-fareast-language: EN-US&#59; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">West Stand. Great fun.</SPAN>
