Confession from Ben G
Well, I am only 12 but when I was A LOT younger I started supporting Arsenal and Man U coz they were the best teams at the time! I remember at school swapping my badges for Man U posters, but one day it all changed. I woke up and started supporting Spurs coz all my family have season tickets and I regularly go! However, my dreadful experience has made me a better fan!
My first game at Tottenham was as a... Liverpool supporter, I think around about 1980. Every kid at the time supported them as they were the Man Utd of their day. On the day I went, I sat in the Paxton and Spurs won 2-0. I suddenly realised that there was this team that played near to where I live (Cuffley) who were good enough to beat Liverpool and that was it. Been Spurs ever since and I now have a season ticket in the Paxton close to where I sat on that eventful, momentous and memorable day.
I've been a loyal Spurs supporter all my life. When I got into the local district side I thought GREAT! until I saw the kit. That ugly red and white of Arsenal. I don't like wearing it at all, but it seems I have no alternative.
I support Spurs, but my first ever game was an Arsenal game at Villa Park earlier on this year and I admit that the Arsenal supporters in the south stand were chanting at Ginola - "you're just a fat Tottenham so and so!". Not very nice I thought! Mind you, I was only there to admire Dennis Bergkamp...
