Well it is not really a confession, more a story which should lead me being bought many drinks from all Spurs fans. Last year - June/July - I was in Agia Napa with a friend of mine, I had moved to Cyprus in 2001 because of work. Well we were all in a pub (name escapes me) and we met Robbie Keane in there with a few of his mates. Well by this time I had had a few beers and my speech was very slury to say the least. I walked up to Robbie and started talking to him and one of the conversations was that I said to him come on sign for Spurs we need someone like you there - he just brushed it off and said well you never knows what happens in football. I responded by saying come on sign for us and I will buy you a beer. Well what happens? - he signs for Spurs and, by the way, I still owe Robbie that beer. Maybe the next time I come across to England I will.
Somewhere lying in my dusty loft is a picture of myself as a baby. What makes this particular photograph more embarrasing than normal is the fact that I am wearing a knitted Arsenal top - lovingly made by my nan as a joke at my father's expense. Little did she realise that I am to carry the embarrasment myself for the rest of my life...
I supported Stoke for a week when I lost out on a pretty easy bet - Spurs to beat west ham. Unfortunately we lost, and I will always hang my head in shame at the thought that I once supported Stoke!
