It all started last season with the semi final of the FA cup. I was in a sandwich shop in the city and my colleague asked me if I had got my ticket to the match yet. Knowing that my colleague was a fellow Spur I replied in the positive.
The sandwhich shop salesman jumped straight in giving it large about The Gooners and how he was a life long supporter and all that, he never actually asked me who I supported he just assumed I was a fellow follower.
Now I would never normally associate myself directly with the other side but this was too good to be true. For weeks we actually got chatting about football in general and I realised that he hadn't a clue who I supported, and when he started bragging about who he knew and what tickets he could get for games, well you know what's coming... We took and are still taking advantage of his very good and free hospitality.
To this day he still doesn't know our true colours and probably never will. We have come close to getting rumbled a few times and have even had to pose as gooners but it has been thoroughly worth it - we have made them pay!
On the day of the Worthington Cup final 1999 my mate still didn't have a ticket. I used to work at Wembley when I was at school and knew I had one of those ghastly orange steward bibs somewhere. We finally found it and let's just say me and my mate enjoyed the final, sitting next to each other.
