Although never a hooligan, I did get chucked out of the Lane back in the
early eighties, it was before an FA Cup game with Exeter and I was
standing on the Shelf when a surge sent fans sprawling, as I was one of
few left standing a copper grabbed me by the ear and proceeded to eject me
from the ground.
I soon had a bright idea! This was to climb the block of flats overlooking the main stand (which had been demolished) and watch the game from there.
Unfortunately I had to climb a gate to gain access, however during this escapade I ripped my trousers from rear waistband to fly, leaving my backside hanging out for all to see. After scaling the gate I still did not get to see the game from the flats as they had a security system.
Luckily I did manage to get back into the Lane just a few minutes into the game after buying a ticket from a bunch of lads outside the ground.
Spurs then went on to win the match and the FA Cup.
From Jolene Gillespie
My mate is a BIG Arsenal fan and was convinced that last season they would
win the double.
Being a Spurs fan I told him that was crazy and they had no chance! (how wrong could I be?) He said that if they did win the double would I wear an Arsenal shirt and get my photo taken. I shook on it!
A few weeks later Arsenal picked up the second cup and I was dreading seeing my friend again. I didn't go to see him for weeks and 'quickly had to go' if
he was around.
I think he's forgot about it now and hopefully I'm safe!
