Alan Hutton wore a contented smile after making a successful return to action on Monday night.
The Scottish international full-back played 70 minutes as our reserves beat West Brom 2-1 at The Hawthorns.
It was Alan's first match action for four months after a serious foot injury and he looked his usual self raiding up and down the right flank.
After all the hours of rehabilitation, he was delighted to be back. "It was good to be back and I felt fine," he said. "It's been a long time so I was just glad to be back playing.
That first game back is never easy but I've put so much work in that I'm pleased to get something back out of it.
"I've been working really hard in training and doing everything I can to get my fitness back and I think it showed.
"I didn't feel a thing and I'm now looking to push on for the rest of the season."
Goals from Gilberto and Pascal Chimbonda in added time secured the 2-1 win in the Barclays Reserve League South.
