Fulham consigned us to a first home loss in all competitions since November on Sunday.
The result meant after a record run of 12 matches unbeaten in the Premier League and a sequence of one reverse in 16, we suffered successive defeats for the first time since the start of that run in November.
Despite the defeats, we still sit fourth in the table with eight matches remaining, four points ahead of Arsenal, who have a game in hand.
"It's not easy when you lose games, but sometimes it can happen in the season," said Hugo, who is now with France for World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Spain. "Of course, it can also happen to other teams as well.
"Now we go away with our national teams for two weeks and hopefully we will return with a great spirit to finish the season.
"We are all focused on the last eight (league) games and I hope we can win as many as possible.
"There are eight games left when we get back, eight finals."
Our next fixture is at Swansea in the Premier League on Saturday, March 30. "Most important thing in this period is to win the next game. It will be difficult to play away to Swansea but we have enough quality to get a win there."
