Our marvellous run of eight clean sheets in nine games is bound to come under threat against the Blues, who possess a host of attacking talent in their ranks.
But goalkeeper Hugo insists he is fully focussed on keeping Jose Mourinho’s charges at bay – and is eyeing a positive result from the London derby.
“We have had a good start to the season but it is important to keep going,” said Hugo. “We know that Chelsea is a massive team that has a lot of great players, and so it will not be an easy game.
“It will be a hard game and I hope to get a good result.”
Hugo believes that if we play to our strengths, we are more than capable of securing a positive result in front of our own fans.
He went on: “I think we have our strengths and they have their strengths. I think that they could come to White Hart Lane to stay compact and play on the counter-attack because they have the team to do that, and in our side – I think we need to keep going, to keep control of the game.”
French international Hugo has heard the talk this week surrounding us having the best domestic defensive record across Europe so far this season – but he said that is firmly put to the back of his mind when he takes to the pitch.
“We are just concentrating on our results. We want to win, when we start a game it’s to win. The other thing is secondary.”
