Chris Hughton takes a look at the promoted teams we'll face next season in this Hughton's Notes special - first up, champions Reading...

The Royals stormed to the Coca-Cola Championship title last season with a record 106 points and 31 wins out of 46 matches.

Here are Chris's thoughts on the men from the Madejski Stadium…

READING'S strength is that they score a lot of goals (99 in the league last season) and when I look at the players they have up front, they have three top-quality strikers in Kitson, Doyle and Lita.

Any of the teams in that division would have loved to have had the combination of those three up front.

They are also very good in the middle of the park with Sidwell and Harper and a footballing side with Little on the right and Convey, who we know well and were once interested in, on the left.

Reading play the game at a very high tempo and that enables them to score the goals they’ve got.

It probably was a surprise that won the Championship with the amount of points they did but you have to hand it to them, even when it was clear they would win promotion, they didn’t let up at all.
