Chris Hughton was impressed with the contribution Jamie O'Hara in Monday's reserve win against Ipswich Town.
The midfielder, just 17, made his first start as we toppled Town 3-0 in the FA Premier Reserve League at Stevenage Borough.
The first year Academy professional had already made his mark in three substitute appearances for the reserves - scoring on his debut back in October.
First team coach Chris explained that Jamie's ability was never in doubt and it was more how he coped physically at this level.
"Jamie is only a first year and he has an ability on the ball," said Chris. "You know in this type of game at reserve level he's not going to lose that ability, it's whether the physical side of the game or the pace takes over.
"He was certainly able to match what they had and that being the case, you know he'll have a contribution with the ball because he is a gifted player.
"He played well although he was fortunate to play in a good team performance.
"If you are a young player then the weight has to be taken off you by the more senior players and as it was a good team performance, he was able to do very, very well."
