After a bright start and opening goal from Gus Poyet we lost out to goals from Vassilis Tstartas and Rodrigo Ramos for our first summer loss in our tenth friendly.
"We started very well," said Chris. "We created a few chances and then got ahead through Gus Poyet.
"But we allowed them back in via a well executed free-kick and a header from a corner, which has been unlike us to concede that way in pre-season.
"The second half opened up a little but was scrappy and there were few clear-cut chances at either end.
"From the point of view of winning the game it was disappointing and it wasn't up to the standards we've set ourselves in pre-season.
"Overall, pre-season has gone extremely well and we've played well but this was our poorest performance."
First team coach Chris Hughton described Sunday's friendly defeat against AEK Athens as our poorest display in pre-season.
