Chris Hughton insists the team are determined to secure a win for the fans against Blackburn on Saturday.
It is the final home game of the season in front of a sell-out crowd at the Lane and the first team coach knows that the supporters have been through it in recent weeks. He hopes the team can see to it that the campaign ends on positive note.
"They have been through it and we feel for them," he reflected. "There is no doubt that from the players' side, they are as disappointed and frustrated as anybody at the club or the supporters.
"It is our last home game on Saturday and, what we are not able to do, is make up for everything, but would like to finish up on a high note.
"We've got two games now that we can win and if we can creep up a couple of places it would be a big boost."
