Chris Hughton has been impressed with how our Under-18s have handled the pressure of the FA Youth Cup this season.
The lads reached the semi-finals with a fine display to beat a feared Watford outfit 2-0 at Vicarage Road. They now face a two-legged semi-final against Ipswich Town in April.
The run has taken them past Forest and Everton at home, Liverpool and now Watford away, with an early strike from Charlie Daniels and another from Andy Barcham setting up the victory.
Chris has watched all four ties and said: "The early goal at Watford was good for the lads and settled the nerves but they beat a good side.
"!I know the Academy staff had watched them the week before and they were impressive so against a good Watford side, it was a very good result.
"Again, speaking to the Academy staff, some of our better performances have been in the FA Youth Cup and they've been able to rise to the occasion.
"As always, there are tough games, Liverpool away and the pitch at Watford wasn't the greatest. You tend to find in the FA Youth Cup that there is so much at stake the games are played a a ferocious pace, but they've handled it all. It would certainly be nice to see us go all the way."
