Hughton fancies friendly fare

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Hughton says our friendlies against Celtic and Lazio represent a wonderful opportunity for both fans and players alike.

First team coach Chris, just back from an intense training camp with the lads in La Manga, is already counting down the days to the high-profile encounters at the Lane in August.

The Scottish champions arrive on Wednesday August 7 (8pm) followed by the Italian giants on Sunday August 11 (3pm).

Chris beamed: "They are great curtain raisers for us, absolutely. You couldn't get two better games.

"Obviously the Celtic game is a great opportunity for their support in London, which is quite a big support, to see them and there is no doubting the quality the team have shown over the last couple of years.

"It will be a wonderful game and, maybe moreso, the Lazio game.

"It is rare to get the chance to play a side of such standing in the world
game at home. If I look at recent years, we haven't had the chance to play
many in pre-season, apart from testimonial games, at White Hart Lane.

"It's a wonderful opportunity to see those teams, one that doesn't come round
too often."
