Scott completed an outstanding first season at Spurs in 2011-12, helping the team to fourth in the Premier League and the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
He made an immediate impact after arriving on transfer deadline day - reflected in being voted Player of the Month by fans in his first three months at the club.
His performances earned a call into Roy Hodgson’s squad for the European Championships - his first major tournament - and he picked up where he left off for us in England’s opening 1-1 draw against France.
“Scott’s a fantastic player and a top, top man as well,” said David, who played 335 times for us in all competiton and won the FA Cup in 1991.
“He carries himself with great presence and dignity in everything he does.
"He couldn’t have given any more for England against France and that typified his performances for Tottenham all season.
“He will always give everything.”
David is in preparation for the London 10K on Sunday, July 8, where he’ll run for our official charity partner, SOS Children.
