And the world’s largest charity for orphaned and abandoned children still have places available for Spurs fans to run alongside ‘Howellsy’ on what will be a memorable occasion for those involved.
As the run draws closer, David, a member of our FA Cup winning team of 1991, is ticking over with fine performances for our Spurs Legends team.
Indeed, he scored twice as the Legends beat Mitchell’s Marvels – a charity team of boxers and celebrities - in Essex on Sunday.
"Preparations are fine," said David. "I’m not going into overdrive in terms of training but I play for the Legends and it's a great way to keep fit.
"I’ve seen the event, I was actually in London when it was taking place a couple of years ago and I thought to myself at the time that it looked a really fun thing to be involved in.
"Well lo and behold, a couple of years later and I am involved! I’m really looking forward to it, especially as it’s for such a good cause.
“SOS Children play a vital role in providing a home and loving family for some of the world’s most vulnerable children and it’s a cause very close to everyone at Spurs,” said David.
“The players are fully supportive of the charity, each sponsoring an child every year, and I have decided to take this great opportunity to show my support.
“I’d like to invite fellow Spurs fans to join me in taking on this memorable challenge and to help raise money for a fantastic cause in the process.” To secure your place to run for SOS Children alongside David, all you need to do is send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org requesting a registration form.
Once we have received your completed registration form and payment (£35) you will be automatically entered into the race – but don’t waste time as those seven places are up for grabs on a first-come-first served basis!
SOS Children ask runners for a pledge to raise just £120 to support their work caring for orphaned and abandoned children around the world.
The easiest way to generate this sponsorship is by creating an online fundraising page. SOS are registered with Justgiving and Virgin Money Giving, so you can use either, and we will promote your page to fellow fans to help you raise as much as possible!
Once entered, SOS will send you a running vest to wear during your training, and the race itself, as well as a Challenge Pack to kick-start your fundraising.

We look forward to hearing from you!
Our legendary midfielder - 335 appearances between 1986-98 - has pledged to run the event for our official charity partner, SOS Children.
