Our young reserve striker started superbly with goals for the first team in pre-season, followed up with a good loan spell at Exeter City but then injury took it's toll.
"I started well but overall I'm disappointed with my season," said the 19-year-old."I had a good loan spell at Exeter, enjoyed it there but injuries interrupted the season.
"I would have liked to have scored a few more goals as well. I haven't played poorly, but not that well either. It was just average."
Nevertheless, 2002-03 was still the season Lee made his Football League debut and he made quite an impression at Exeter - he was awarded the man-of-the-match honour for a LDV Vans Trophy tie against Cardiff City.
Exeter were eventually relegated - a bit of a shock for Lee. "I enjoyed there and I'm surprised they went down," he said.
"The first game I was on loan there we won but we lost the other three. It was a good experience for me. I managed to get a man of the match against Cardiff. I would have liked to have been there longer."
A broken thumb ruled him out for nine weeks soon after his return in November and he's now looking ahead to pre-season.
He added: "I had a good pre-season last year and hopefully I'll get the chance again this summer."
Lee Barnard takes a brutally honest personal stance when asked to reflect on last season.
