DAVID GINOLA will return to where he most feels at home in English football on Thursday night.
The French wing wizard will line-up alongside fellow legends Glenn Hoddle, Jurgen Klinsmann, Paul Gascoigne, Chris Waddle, Paul and Clive Allen in the Tottenham Tribute Match at the Lane.
The dream Spurs team - also likely to include first team players returning from injury - will line-up against MLS outfit DC United in a game to raise funds for former players.
David lit up the Lane for three seasons between 1997-2000 and played some of the best football in his career in 1998-99, culminating in the Worthington Cup triumph at Wembley and a PFA/Football Writers Player of the Year double.
So how much did this return mean to him? Speaking from France, he exclusively told the Official Spurs Website: "As you can imagine it is very important to me.
"I loved my time at Tottenham for many reasons. I had a great time at White Hart Lane football-wise and had a wonderful relationship with the people at the club, the players and the supporters.
"Things could have been better in terms of results but I only want to think positively about it.
"Of course, I came back before with Aston Villa and it was a great feeling, even though it was an away game it felt like a home game to me. The fans were fantastic.
"I was a little anxious before I returned but that proved to myself that I had made an impact in my time at Tottenham and I am very proud of that."
And he quite fancies the prospect of lining up with the likes of Hoddle, Waddle and Gascoigne. "That midfield has a nice look to it!" he said.
"Even though the players are a little older, you can never take away the skills and the things they can do with the ball.
"Even if they can't run as fast as the younger players, they can still play very good football. I'm sure it will be a fantastic night and I am looking forward to it very much."
