Rafa van der Vaart said he immediately felt at home at White Hart Lane.
So it’s no surprise to recall that the Dutch star scored in six-successive matches on home territory between September and November last season.
Peter Crouch played a key role in Rafa’s run that started with the equaliser from the penalty spot on our way to a 3-1 win against Wolves on his home debut on September 18 and ended with a goal in the 1-1 draw against Sunderland on November 9.
There were vital goals on the way including a match-winning double against Villa - both from Crouchy assists - and the opener in that fantastic 3-1 win against Inter Milan in the Champions League.
"I felt so good at White Hart Lane straight away, especially with the fans," said Rafa, who went on to score 15 goals in all competitions and make the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Season Award in his first season in England.
"In the first game you want to impress everyone and perhaps you want to do too much to show what kind of player you are but in the end we won 3-1 against Wolves, I scored a penalty and it was a good start.
"We are always confident at home and the Champions League nights were special. It was such a big thi. Every night was fantastic, especially Inter."
