Home form key - Christian

Christian Eriksen has stressed the importance of improving our home form as we seek a fourth successive victory in all competitions on Sunday.

Having eased past Brighton Hove & Albion in the Capital One Cup, fought back to beat Aston Villa last weekend and clinched a 2-1 win in Greece on Thursday there is plenty of cause for optimism against Stoke.

However, after being on the wrong end of Premier League results at White Hart Lane against Liverpool, West Brom and Newcastle this season our Danish international midfielder knows it’s crucial that we get all three points against Mark Hughes’s men.

“It’s really important to start winning our league games at home,” he said. “In the Premier League if you want to get to where you want to be you have to win your home games.

"We’ve been a bit unlucky at home but hopefully we can turn it round against Stoke.

“We need to score the first goal. We are always confident that we’ll score but we also need to keep our heads in games. There are times when we let opponents have easy chances so that’s something we need to address. We have to keep our heads on the game for 90 minutes.”

Despite a good result in Greece on Thursday, which puts us on the brink of qualification for the knockout stages, Christian still believes our performances have plenty of room for improvement. “Now we’ve had a few wins it gives us confidence but we can still do much better than we did against Asteras,” he added. “Against Villa it was the same, we can still do much better but we’re looking forward to the Stoke game now.”
