I GET equal satisfaction from both of our games this week but for different reasons.
We were totally in control against Leeds on Saturday and managed to turn the game around from a deficit.
At Anfield, we went for the three points but defended very well. That was the first time since I've been here as manager that I've been able to play that back three of Anthony Gardner, Ledley King and Dean Richards for the second game on the trot.
It's an amazing fact, but true. Someone has always been injured, suspended, whatever. We looked solid and Liverpool found it hard to break us down.
I have to give full credit to Ledley and Dean - they've not had a pre-season, they've been thrown in at the deep end and responded.
If we can get one more game out of them on Saturday then we'll have two weeks where we can get some sharp training down them and they'll be better for that.
It wasn't all about defending though. In the first half we got into some good positions and as I said, we went to Anfield trying to get the three points.
We knew that Liverpool would come out of the blocks quickly, they've not had the win they've been looking for and we needed to be shrewd in the way we played. We have a relatively young side but that was a good team performance.
