The South Korean international star has won the prestigious prize for April, having scooped the same honour back in September, 2016.
He becomes only the second Spur to win the award twice in the same season after Harry Kane, who claimed it in consecutive months in January and February, 2015.
It’s also the fourth time one of our players has been crowned EA SPORTS Player of the Month in 2016-17 after Sonny in September, Dele Alli in January and Harry in February.
Sonny scored five goals in four games at the start of April, stepping off the bench to net in the 2-0 win at Burnley on April 1 before scoring our dramatic late second in the eventual 3-1 triumph at Swansea City four days later.
He followed that up with a brace in the 4-0 home win over Watford on April 8 and was on target once more as we repeated that scoreline to see off Bournemouth seven days later.
He featured in all seven of our matches throughout the month, including the 4-2 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, 1-0 win at Crystal Palace and 2-0 home triumph in the north London derby.
“I’m really thankful to my team-mates,” said Sonny. “This is my second time (winning the award) but I’m not finished with my second – I want to get a third one.
“It’s not just for me, I think it’s for everyone and I’m really proud of the way we played in April. We won against Arsenal, I scored many goals, we fought in every game and we conceded just one goal in the league so it’s just an unbelievable thing and I have good memories of April.
“It’s very special and I’m really, really thankful to everyone who voted for me – the Tottenham fans, the Korean fans – it makes it a special moment for me. I want to just keep going really hard now. This is not the finish – I want to fight in every game, every training session and show that I can be better.”
Mauricio Pochettino was earlier named Barclays Manager of the Month for April
, while Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen were also among the nominees for EA SPORTS Player of the Month.
