Long-serving Chris has been Martin's assistant since the Dutchman took over as Head Coach back in November.
The pair guided the squad to the quarter-finals of the Carling and FA Cups and pushed us into UEFA Cup contention with seventh place still up for grabs on the last day of the season. We eventually finished ninth.
"He's very, very good to work with, someone who has a real passion for the game," said Chris.
"I’m sure he was no different in Holland because that’s how he is, he enjoys the game.
"I’ve enjoyed working with him, He’s a passionate man about the game, a big character and that’s something that has endeared him to the players, supporters and the press alike.
"All the good things about him you can see, there are not many secrets. He is as people see him and that has made the transition easier."
Chris Hughton enjoyed every minute of working alongside Martin Jol last season.
