Following an incident at Coombes House in the early hours of Wednesday, November 29, the Club opened its doors to accommodate several of the elderly residents who, on the advice of London Fire Brigade, had evacuated their sheltered housing accommodation.

Thirteen residents were given a complimentary three-course lunch and tea and coffee by the Club in the Pat Jennings lounge, overlooking the pitch at the Lane, while London Borough of Haringey Social Services made arrangements for alternative accommodation.

Matthew Collecott, Financial Director, said: "We are only too happy to help. We are proud to have been a part of life on Tottenham High Road for over 100 years and it's on days like these that we need to pull together as one community."
