Ex-England boss Glenn is pefectly placed to comment on international matters and he insists Ledley is ready to take the biggest step of all.
"The boy deserves it," declared Glenn. "He's been absolutely superb this season.
"We would have like to have given him a rest but due to injuries and players like Deano being cup-tied we haven't been able to do it.
"That mental fatigue hits you as a youngster but he's been immaculate and he'll get better and better.
"I think he's ready for the squad and if he's ready for the World Cup, well, that's Sven's decision.
"The good thing is, and touch wood he doesn't get injured, this boy has a very, very good future ahead of him.
"He is comfortable with the ball, can play off both feet, he's getting stronger in the air and has major, major assets as a defender."
