Chris Hughton has praised the contribution of John Jackson and Stephen Kelly - seeing their arrival as healthy competition for the squad.
Michael Brown also falls into that category starting from Saturday's Premiership clash against Liverpool and the return to fitness of Simon Davies and form of Gary Doherty deputising for Dean Richards all add to that competition.
Coach Chris said: "Testament to both of the young lads who have come in and applied themselves very, very well.
"John Jackson has played a couple of games and although the last game wasn't in his favoured position he did a good job for us.
"We've also got Michael Brown available now so we're at a time where we've had bodies come back in, players have applied themselves well and we've got a bit of competition and that's always very healthy."
