The Swiss star comes up against arguably the most explosive striker and current leading scorer in the Premiership in the shape of the Dutch star who scored four goals in Chelsea’s 6-1 hammering of Coventry last week.
Vega said: “Hasselbaink is a man you have to look after. He’s not a striker who will beat you with skill like Zola for instance, he is very physical, in your face, strikes from every position and that’s the danger.
“But he’s not the only danger in this team. They have a lot of good forwards in the likes of Zola, Flo and people like Wise who can do things.
“We have to be careful of the whole team and our whole team has to defend and attack. If we can do that we have possibilities.
“Don’t forget it’s a London derby. I don’t care that they won 6-1 last week, this is a London derby and that’s my priority.”
Vega admits our away form — one point in five games — is ‘not not good enough for a team that wants to be in the top five’.
So what better place to put that right than Stamford Bridge.
Vega added: “Chelsea have got the squad that at the start of the season was expected to challenge for the title, don’t forget that.
“But they’ve been through a few problems, changing manager so we just have to go up there and try to win a London derby, simple as that.
“We can’t worry about anything else like what they did last weekend but the important thing is we go there with confidence and try to do our job.
“We know it’s very important for the fans. It’s a London derby and if they are behind us we will try to do everything for them. It’s always nice to please the fans. You can feel it back from them now. We want to win for them.”
