Harry Redknapp paid a glowing tribute to Jamie O'Hara after he suffered the hammer blow of missing a penalty in Sunday's Carling Cup Final shoot-out against United.
The midfielder, 22, saw his spot kick - the first of the shoot-out after the final finished 0-0 after extra time - well saved by Ben Foster. David Bentley also missed and United converted four out of four to take it 4-1.
Jamie was distraught but no doubt heartened by words of support both from his team-mates and manager.
"He really fancied it, in fact he was the first volunteer," revealed Harry. "It was just unfortunate that Foster made a great save.
"He's okay and I'm pleased I got him on because he's Tottenham through and through and he really feels for the club.
"He's a terrific passer of the ball, a good footballer with a lovely left foot and gives you a nice balance because he can play inside or wide. He's in my plans.
"I've been so impressed with him as both a player and a person. You'd want him on your side any day of the week."
