Harry Redknapp was full of praise for Andros Townsend after his outstanding debut against Charlton.
The young winger capped his first appearance with the crucial opening goal four minutes into the second half of the FA Cup third round tie at the Lane.
That fine strike into the bottom corner from 25 yards settled any nerves after we'd gone in goalless at half-time.
Jermain Defoe tucked away two goals in the space of four minutes on the hour mark to put the issue beyond doubt at 3-0.
Andros, just 19, tore up and down the right touchline from the first to last minute and went close to scoring again as another 25-yarder zipped into the side-netting.
A graduate of our Academy, Andros was handed his chance after loan spells at Yeovil, Orient, MK Dons and Ipswich in the last couple of seasons.
"Young Andros had a fantastic debut," said Harry. "He's got a good chance, we like him.
"He's got a good attitude and he's a smashing kid, he works hard and wants to be player. He comes in on his days off and trains, he wants to improve.
"He's come through the youth team and he's done okay wherever he's been on loan. I've been delighted with him."
We were handed an away draw against Fulham in the fourth round.
