'One I'm very proud of' - Harry on 'perfect' UCL hat-trick against APOEL

Wed 27 September 2017, 08:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Just when you think Harry Kane is running out of milestones, two more arrive at once.

The striker scored his first hat-trick in the Champions League to spearhead us to a vital 3-0 victory against APOEL in Nicosia, Cyprus and two wins out of two in Group H.

At the same time, it was Harry’s first ‘perfect’ hat-trick - a goal with his left foot, right foot and a header to complete the treble.

It was his SIXTH hat-trick for us in 2017 - his ninth in total - and 34th goal of the calendar year as he moved onto 108 goals for the Club in 173 appearances. That takes him up to 14th on our all-time goalscoring list, just two behind Glenn Hoddle.

In terms of a night’s work, it ticked all the boxes as we overcame a stern test to join Real Madrid on six points after the holders toppled Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in Germany.

“This is one I'm very proud of,” said Harry. “It's my first hat-trick in the Champions League and for it to be my first perfect hat-trick of my career as well, I'm delighted.

“We all delighted with the three points as well.

“It was a tough night and a great 3-0 win. APOEL came out strong but we were clinical in the vital areas.

“The win puts us in a great spot but it's by no means over. We've tough games coming up. Real Madrid are next and we have to go there with the same confidence and try to get a result.”
