Harry Redknapp took plenty of positives as we kicked-off a busy summer schedule with a 4-0 friendly win at Bournemouth.

The manager fielded 22 players at Dean Court with Carlo Cudicini making his return from injury in goal and young professionals Calum Butcher, Steven Caulker, Dean Parrett, John Bostock, Ryan Mason, Jon Obika, Adam Smith and Andros Townsend all getting a run-out.

Obika, who partnered Robbie Keane up front in the first half, scored our first goal of pre-season to hand us a 1-0 lead at the break.

We stretched that lead to 3-0 with two goals in a minute from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Danny Rose just after the hour before ‘Pav' rounded the afternoon off with a delightful chipped fourth goal.

"The lads have come back in good shape, nice and fit and they are ready to play," declared Harry afterwards at Dean Court.

"Pavlyuchenko took his goals well, Luka Modric came on in the second half and he is a world-class player, he makes the game look so simple.

"We mixed the teams up and I thought they all did well. The senior players showed a great attitude and the younger lads all respond to that.

"Overall, it was a good run out for us and a good day all-round."

The squad travel to America next week for a training camp, a friendly aganst Club partners San Jose Earthquakes and then the Barclays New York Challenge with matches against New York Red Bulls and Sporting Lisbon.
