Harry Redknapp is delighted to have Tom Huddlestone back in full training.
And the manager is hopeful the midfielder will be fit for selection for our next match after the international break in the Premier League at Wigan on Saturday, April 3.
A key player for us in the last couple of seasons, the 24-year-old has been out since November with an ankle injury.
He returned to training on Friday last week and is working overtime to be ready for Wigan.
“Tom’s a fantastic footballer and it’s great to have him back training,” said Harry.
“We’ve two weeks now where we can really work with him and hopefully get him ready for the next game. There is no reason why he shouldn’t make that with a fortnight’s training.”
Competition is fierce in that central area with Sandro now stating his claim after fine performances of late alongside the likes of Luka Modric, Jermaine Jenas and Wilson Palacios.
“Yes, Sandro has done well and we’ve JJ, Wilson, they are all good players and Tom is another good player, so it’s good to have him back,” added Harry.
As always during an international break, first-team players are few and far between at Spurs Lodge – 16 senior professionals are away on international duty.
Training goes on though. “There are only a few players here,” added Harry. “Sandro has trained with us but he’s now joined the Brazilian squad (they play Scotland at the Emirates).
"JJ is training, Tom is back with us, Gomes has been working with Tony Parks and other than that, it’s all the youngsters.”
