Harry Kane has become our first home-grown player since Mark Falco almost 30 years ago to crack the 20-goal mark in a season.

Harry's goals this seasonHe celebrates number 20 after making it 3-0 at West Brom

The young striker’s double in Saturday’s 3-0 win at West Brom took him to 20 goals in all competitions - 10 in the Premier League, seven in the Europa League and three in the Capital One Cup - making him the top marksman in the Premier League in terms of goals in all competitions.

Hackney-born Mark joined us as an apprentice in 1977, made his debut in 1979 and went on to score 89 goals in 236 appearances before moving to Watford in October, 1986.

He enjoyed two goal-den seasons - 24 goals in all competitions including 22 in Division One in 1984-85 and then 25 in all competitions in 1985-86 including 19 in Division One.

“It means a lot to me and hopefully it will continue,” said Harry, who has signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract which runs until 2020.

“Twenty goals was the next target after I got to 10 and I’m happy to be there now.

“I was on 18 for what felt like ages, in fact, it was only three matches, but I’m very happy to get to the 20-goal mark and hopefully I’ll push on again now. There are plenty of games to go and I’m really enjoying at the moment.”

Harry’s next target is another first – a first goal in the North London derby at senior level as we take on Arsenal at the Lane on Saturday.

“Everyone throughout the club is looking forward to that one, it’s probably the biggest game of the season for us and hopefully we’ll get the win,” he added.
