Following a £600,000 cash injection from Barclays Spaces for Sport and the Football Foundation, the community centre has been transformed to virtually unrecognizable proportions. The result is the White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre, boasting a resurfaced third-generation artificial grass football pitch, four resurfaced tennis courts and new, high quality floodlighting.
The centre’s inaugural summer programme has already provided hundreds of young people from the local community with the opportunity to make the most of their holidays by allowing them to participate in a variety of different sports and activities. As well as Tottenham Hotspur Community’s FA qualified coaching team, coaches from London Skolars Rugby League Club and the Lawn Tennis Association have also been on hand to share their expert advice with Haringey’s upcoming sports enthusiasts.
Formerly the New River Sports Centre, White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre is the result of a record-breaking grant from Barclays Spaces for Sport and the Football Foundation, and has given the local community the opportunity to take part in sport using a state of the art facility on their doorstep.
Using venues such as the White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre, Tottenham Hotspur Community delivers a wide variety of projects designed to support the needs of the people of Haringey.
