To make the 5-1 win even more special for Tom, it was an early birthday present with his 21st coming up on Friday.
He said: “With my birthday coming up I had all my family at the game, so it was great to get a win and even better to score some goals.
“In any good team, you can’t just rely on your strikers for goals. Midfielders and defenders from set-pieces have all got to chip in with their goals. If I can do that, it’ll be good.
“The second goal was more luck than anything else, but the first was thanks to a great set-up by Berba and I managed to get it out of my feet and put it in the back of the net.
“Entertaining is a big part of it, but the most important thing is to get the wins at this moment in time.”
Tom has also described the return from injury of our captain Ledley King as a big boost for everyone.
He added: “From his performance it seemed as if he’d hardly missed a game, despite being out for around six months. He’s one of the best centre-backs in the league and I think he proved that.”
Tom Huddlestone realises the importance of chipping in with his fair share of goals from midfield following his brace against Fulham.Tom reckons any top side needs to be contributing goals from all areas of the field, and he now has three for the season.
