Happy 100 for Jan

Jan Vertonghen chalked up the century milestone for us in the Premier League this week - and he's already targeting 200.

The Belgian international hit his ton in Monday night's 3-1 win against Villa at the Lane.

In doing so, he became the 35th player to play 100 matches for us in the Premier League – a list still led by Darren Anderton on 299.

And it's safe to say Jan feels at home!

Signed from Ajax in the summer of 2012, Jan, now 28 and on 143 appearances in all competitions for us, doesn’t want to stop at 100.

“It’s gone so quickly, three years and a bit,” he said. “I’ve had some injuries in that time as well but they only kept me on the sidelines for perhaps 25, 30 games, so that’s good. I want to continue and hopefully get to 200 Premier League games.

“I love to play a lot of games week in, week out. Hopefully I’ll keep going this season. I feel good, I feel confident and I’d like to thank everyone who has helped so far.”
