Chris Waddle and Paul Allen look back on their Spurs careers in an exclusive feature on Spurs TV Online as the pair became the latest inductees into the Club's Hall of Fame this week.
Both were part of the side that memorably finished third in the top flight and reached the FA Cup Final as well as the League Cup semi-final in the 1986/87 campaign.
Waddle, who scored 42 goals in 172 appearances for the Club between 1985 and 1989, says: "It was just one of those seasons.
"It was highly enjoyable and people always mention that season whenever I come back to White Hart Lane. The football was flowing, entertaining, and teams couldn't live with it at times."
Allen stayed on for another four years after Chris left for Marseille, and was lucky enough to be part of the side that lifted the FA Cup in 1991.
He adds: "The memories of Paul Gascoigne that season stand out, but playing against Arsenal in a semi-final at Wembley, winning 3-1 as the underdogs and then going back to beat Nottingham Forest in the Final the following month is something I never surpassed in my career."
There's also a bit of banter as Chris looks back on another memorable moment from his Spurs career - the musical duet between him and Spurs team-mate Glenn Hoddle!
Hear what Waddle himself has to say about the thinking behind ‘Diamond Lights' and the reaction it received in the dressing room!
