The first is to bounce back from Sunday’s defeat at City and the second, to clinch top spot in Europa League, Group K with a positive performance in Norway.
Iceland international Gylfi is aware we face unfamiliar surroundings in Tromso – not least an artificial playing surface at the Alfheim Stadium – but he insists the lads are determined to get back to winning ways.
“Obviously it will be completely different from the first match at White Hart Lane,” said Gylfi, referring to our 3-0 win in September.
“We all know how cold it is out there and we’re playing on an artificial pitch, but it’s up to us to get the job done and try to secure first place in the group.
“Tromso have been in a relegation battle, they’ve finished their season and they will be looking to put on a show against us. We have to be aware of that and make sure we do our jobs.”
Gylfi tried to put a brave face on as he reflected on the 6-0 loss at City. “We’re all very disappointed,” he said.
“But the main thing now is to get the right reaction and make sure we get back to winning ways.
“We’re only four points off second place, so we can look at it that way. The important thing is to get the right results in our next matches and to make December a positive month.”
