Gylfi, who netted a goal of the season contender in our epic victory over Hull City in the Capital One Cup in midweek, is determined to avoid a repeat of last season’s visit to the Toffees.
Last December, a late collapse saw us let a 1-0 lead slip in the dying minutes with Everton running out 2-1 winners.
Sunday’s hosts have since undergone a change of manager, with new boss Roberto Martinez drawing praise from far and wide for the style of football he’s implemented at the club.
And midfielder Gylfi knows we’ll face a stern examination at the weekend as we seek a third consecutive Premier League win.
“They’ve changed quite a bit from last season, passing the ball a lot more,” warned our Icelandic international.
“It will be a very tough game to go there and get a result.
“We’ve done well in the league apart from the West Ham game, so we’ll be looking to build on that. We will go there looking to get the three points.”
Victory on Sunday would see us stretch our winning run on the road to six games in all competitions, and Gylfi is happy with our away form so far this term.
“It’s been really good this season,” he added. “We just need to carry on doing the things we’ve been doing and hopefully that form will continue.”
