Gus Poyet revealed that he is investigating the possibility of extending his playing career in Qatar next season.
The midfielder, who is entering the final months of his three-year stint at White Hart Lane, visited the Gulf state during our recent break in fixtures and admits that finishing his career in a league that has attracted the likes of Gabriel Batistuta, Steffan Effenberg, Fernando Hierro and Frank Leboeuf is something that appeals to him.
"I went there myself to try and speak to people about the opportunities to go and play there," reported Gus. "We'll see, it is nothing at the moment, but it is the only option for me to keep playing football.
"It is something new, another challenge and I could help to promote everything there. I will see, it might extend my career, but I will definitely not be playing in England next year."
