Gus Poyet is well aware of the need to be 'careful' against PSV at the Lane - but insists we'll be going all out to win the first leg of our UEFA Cup tie on Thursday night.The Dutch Eredivisie leaders arrive at the Lane for an 8.05pm kick-off in the first leg of this Round of 16 tie with the return in Eindhoven next Wednesday, March 12 (7.45pm UK time).

PSV top their domestic table by six points from Ajax and progressed to the last 16 by beating Swedish side Helsingborg 4-1 on aggregate, winning both legs.

“They are quite a young side, very organised and know how to play the game,” said Gus. “That makes them a dangerous team to play against.

“We know we will create chances so we have to take those chances and remain safe at the back, we have to be careful.

“When it’s over two legs, you have to play with the overall result in mind, but we have to win the first leg. It’s at home and we want to win. It’s important to keep a clean sheet as well so to win 1-0 would be a good result.”

Gus reiterated his message for the fans to crank up the volume again on Thursday night. “It’s been fantastic in the last few games at home and what about the final? That was amazing!

“It’s something the players love and when you feel that extra from the fans, it’s much easier. I’m sure the crowd will be unbelievable at White Hart Lane and that will help us.”
