GUS SEEKS REPEAT

Gus Poyet is looking for a repeat of the performance at Fratton Park when we meet Portsmouth again at the Lane on Saturday.

Dimitar Berbatov scored the only goal of the game when we travelled to the south coast in December.

First team coach Gus was impressed with that display and knows that we have to find that level again against a Pompey side that has won eight of 15 away trips in the Barclays Premier League this term - only Chelsea and Manchester United have won more games on the road.

"They are organised and difficult to beat," reasoned Gus at the Lodge this week. "They don't take the initiative when they play away and that's why they are so good away from home.

"We did an excellent job at their place earlier in the season because we understood the game and what we needed to do. We have to do that again. We are at home and know we will go forward but we have to understand the game again. It's all about being a team and that's how you get results."

Once again, Gus underlined the motivation for the rest of the season. "We want to win every game and that's for the team, for the club, for the staff and most especially for the supporters. They deserve for us to be playing at our best and we play for them."
