We have drawn the Czech side in the round of 32, with the first leg in Prague on Thursday February 14.
In last season’s qualifying round, a Jermaine Jenas strike gave us a 1-0 lead going into the second leg at White Hart Lane, where we finished the job with a Robbie Keane goal which sent us through to the group stages 2-0 on aggregate.
But our assistant coach Gus believes Slavia could be a very different proposition this time around, so we must be prepared.
He said: “We know a lot about Slavia having played them last year, and I think the key to this is that we have the second leg at home.
“In terms of what we can expect over there, the players they have and the way they play, I think they would have changed things from last season.
“But I think with the quality of the squad we have, we should be looking to perform ourselves, with all due respect to the opposition.
“At the end of the day it’s about us, about doing the right things and getting a good performance away from home to give us a chance for when we come back.
“If we can finish the tie over there it would be welcome, but it’s still a long time away so we have the time to check on them a little bit more.”

Gus Poyet has warned that we should not be over-confident about our UEFA Cup draw with Slavia Prague having beaten them in the competition last season.
