The midfielder picked up the injury in pre-season but returned to action in September - with the bone still broken - sporting a lightweight cast for protection.

The reports were encouraging. "It's good news," revealed a smiling Gus back at Spurs Lodge. "I was a little worried last week because there was a little pain but I think it was down to the change in the weather.
"The good news is that the X-ray shows it is healing, so I will not need any operation and that was important for me.
"I will keep training normally with the use of the wrist protection and sometimes you have to be lucky as well not to have another accident. Hopefully I'll be lucky!"
Gus Poyet has been told the news he's been waiting to hear - his broken wrist is starting to heal!
