Gus on City danger

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Gus Poyet describes tonight's FA Cup 4th round replay against Manchester City as a 'dangerous game' for us.

The team tackle City for the fourth time this season having already faced Kevin Keegan's side away the Premiership, at home in the Carling Cup and away in the original FA Cup tie.

The outcome of the trilogy so far has been a goalless draw, a 3-1 win in our favour and a 1-1 draw ten days ago. It is fair to say the teams are pretty familiar with each other.

"We know each other a lot," agreed Gus, now free from suspension and available for selection tonight. "We have to make sure that we are at our best because Man City is a dangerous game. When they are having a good day they can do great things - especially going forward.

Manchester United await the winners of the contest, but Gus says thoughts of that must be banished until after game. He added that a cup win for us normally has a positive effect on Premiership performances.

"We have to be there 100 per cent and show that we want to win the game. After that, we can maybe start thinking about Man Utd.

"Also, we have proved that when we do something in the cup, we can take it on and do well in the Premiership. It would be nice to do well on Saturday as well."

Gus concluded by insisting the view that the hard work was done in securing a draw at the City of Manchester Stadium is not one he shares and says the team must approach the game in a 'clever way'.

"It's not easy and especially with City's one key situation in that they are really fast up front - very quick. If you go too much forward you could leave them space at the back and they can hurt you on the counter.

"It's a tricky game and we have to play with the head - in a clever way."

Spurs are 4/5 to emerge victorious in tonight's FA Cup 4th round replay, while the draw at 9/4 and a City win priced at 11/4.

Robbie Keane is the shortest priced striker to score first (4/1), with Helder Postiga at 7/1. The now free from suspension Gus Poyet is 10/1 along with Stephane Dalmat, while Michael Brown and Simon Davies are a tempting 12/1.
